2018 QUALIFIERS
•
Oceania (OFC): 0.5 spots. 11 teams will compete
for 0.5 direct places. The winner of the 0.5 place would progress to the Inter-confederation playoff.
FIRST ROUND: Single round-robin format
•
A total of 4 teams, as determined by the OFC in March 2014, will play a single round-robin tournament held in Tonga.
The match schedule was revealed in 30 July 2015, following a draw held at OFC Headquarters in New Zealand.

SECOND ROUND: Round-robin Format
•
A total of eight teams (the seven highest ranked team and the first round winner) will play the tournament at a single country. For the group stage, they will be divided into two groups of four teams. The top three teams of each group will advance to the third round of World Cup qualifying.
The draw for the second round, i.e. 2016 OFC Nations Cup, was held as part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Preliminary Draw on 25 July 2015, in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

THIRD ROUND: Round-robin format
•
A total of six teams will play the tournament. For the group stage, they will be divided into two groups of three teams. The two group winners will meet in a two-legged match with the winner advancing to the inter-confederation play-offs.
The draw for the third round will be held after the second round is completed.
First match(es) will be played on November 2016.
The final will be played on 2-10 October 2017.

FOURTH ROUND: Playoff format
•
The draw for the inter-confederations playoff was held on 25 July 2015 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The fifth-placed team from CONMEBOL was drawn against the first-placed team from OFC, with the CONMEBOL team hosting the second leg.
The inter-confederations playoff was held on 6-14 November 2017.
Peru won 2–0 on aggregate and qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
